Lajla Zaimović Kurtović has been active in the B&H NGO sector from 2006. After being engaged in Association Alumni of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Studies of University of Sarajevo (ACIPS) first as a researcher, then planning/fundraising manager and a project manager, she was elected President in February 2011, a position which she held until the end of mandate in April 2013. Since then, she worked as a policy expert and/or a researcher on various projects with different local and international NGOs. Also, she worked for OHR, UNDP, Heinrich Boell Foundation BiH and TRIAL (Track Impunity Always). The topics she is interested in are election policies, constitutional and legislative changes and democratization.
